Police begin Phase II of NHIS enrollment for Retired Officers

..As CP MB Kuryas urges retired Police officers,spouses to take advantage of this laudable NPF initiative and enrol at no cost.

In line with the Inspector-General of Police resolve at ensuring that retired Police officers (irrespective of ranks) and their spouses are not left out in the Force initiative of providing quality and accessible health care services through the National Health insurance scheme(NHIS),the Anambra State Police Command wishes to inform the public especially retired Police officers that the Inspector-General of Police *IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu,NPM,mni* has graciously approved the second phase of the enrolment exercise in order to avail retired police officers not captured in the first phase of the exercise
the opportunity to do so.

The exercise will take place at various Police Area Commands in the State. All retired police officers (each with a spouse), who were not captured during the 1st phase of the exercise, are therefore required to visit any Police Area Command closest to them (in their respective LGAS) with their Letter of Retirement and Retiree’s I.D Card.

The registration/capturing exercise is scheduled to hold between Monday, 15th March, 2021 – Thursday, 18th March, 2021 in Anambra State.
Consequently, the registration and services provided under this scheme is absolutely at no cost and without any form of deduction whatsoever from retirees’ monthly pension.The Commissioner of Police *CP Monday Bala Kuryas,fsi* therefore enjoins all retired Police Officers in the State who are yet to be captured on the Scheme, to take optimum advantage of this laudable initiative of the Inspector-General of Police *IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu,NPM mni* who is always passionate about the welfare of Police personnel before and in retirement.

NO ATTACK ON ANY POLICE STATION, FORMATION OR ANY SECURITY OUTFIT IN ZAMFARA STATE,

AS AGAINST A VIDEO CLIP CONNECTED TO AN ATTACK ON POLICE STATION IN ZAMFARA STATE TRENDING ON SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM.

The attention of Zamfara State Police Command has been drawn to a fake video clip currently circulating on social media platforms revealing an attack on Police Station and killing of Policemen by gunmen which was connected to Zamfara State.

The connection of the video to Zamfara State is a calculated attempt by some unscrupulous elements to create apprehension and confusion into the minds of the general public and to further ridicule the good image of the state.

From the crime statistics of the Command, no Police station/Formation or any Security outfit in the state that was attack by bandits or any group of criminals in the last two years. Therefore members of the public are enjoined to disregard the video clip and go about their legitimate business.

The Command is using this medium to further warn against spreading false information especially on security matters. Any person or group found in connection with this crime will be arrested, investigated and prosecuted according to the law of the land.

DEATH OF A YOUNG NIGERIAN IN IHITTE UBOMA LGA – CP CONDEMNS INCIDENT, ENJOINS CITIZENS NOT TO RESORT TO JUNGLE JUSTICE

– As Imo Command Commences Discrete Investigations into Incident
The Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Nasiru Mohammed has condemned the death of a youth (name unknown) in Ihitte Uboma Local Government Area of Imo state. The CP who described the incident as unfortunate, has called for calm and assures that the perpetrator(s) would not go unpunished.

The CP noted that the Command has commenced discrete investigations into the incident. Meanwhile, preliminary Investigations revealed that two policemen from the Ihite Uboma Division on investigations activity, took a suspect to her house on investigation, and on reaching the house, her relatives raised an alarm, and some persons in the area came out in their numbers and attacked the officers. The officers sustained multiple, serious matchet cut injuries in the attack and currently hospitalized. It was also revealed that in the heat of the attack on the policemen, one of the weapons of the Policemen was accidentally discharged under circumstances yet to be ascertained and a middle-aged man was hit by a bullet. Pursuant to the above, youths of the area, invaded the Police station in Ihitte Uboma community and razed it.

The CP enjoined the people of Ihitte Uboma community not to resort to jungle justice but allow the course of justice to prevail. He condemned the attack on the Police Station and call on the members of the public to remain calm, as the command will leave no stone unturned in its efforts to ensure that justice is done.
