Gowon unveils NYSC Radio-TV as DG offers ‘job opportunities’ in Broadcasting
Former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, has inaugurated the newly-established radio, 88.3 FM, and television station of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC.
The NYSC TV is on TSTV Channel 365.
The inauguration ceremony, at the National Headquarters of the NYSC, on Thursday, was graced by Gen. Gowon, Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare; former Director Generals of the Scheme, traditional rulers and other prominent guests.
In his keynote address, Gowon, applauded the strides of the Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim-led management team in setting up the TV and radio station.

According to him, the NYSC, almost 49 years after its establishment, has continued to harness the potential of graduate youth for accelerated national development.
While reiterating his support for the proposed NYSC Trust Fund, the former Nigerian leader, called on well-meaning organisations to support the Scheme in its arduous task of promoting national unity, integration and development.
Earlier, Gen. Shuaibu, Director General of the NYSC, disclosed that the establishment of the NYSC radio and TV station is part of the whole gamut of activities designed to advance the course of the Scheme.
He said both the NYSC radio and TV station will entirely be run by corps members and few staff of the Scheme, adding that ‘corpers’ who wish to pursue careers in broadcasting will get training opportunities at the stations.
