Sen. Na’Allah, UNIJos VC Unveil Book on ‘Zuru People of Northwest Nigeria’
A book titled, ‘Zuru People of Northwest Nigeria,’ authored by Mr. Bawa K. Amos, has been launched in Abuja.
It was unveiled today by Sen. Bala Ibn Na’Allah and Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos, UNIJos, Prof. Ishaya Tanko.
The launching event was held at the Nigerian Army Command Officers’ Mess in Asokoro, with some prominent traditional leaders in attendance.
Notable sons and daughters of Zuru kingdom also graced the book unveiling.
Prof. Tanko, Chairman of the occasion, noted that Zuru people are not just warriors in military aspect alone, but also in educational pursuit.
He recommended the book to students of history, saying it will help them in re-writing and studying the beautiful, rich and culturally-prolific tradition of the people of Zuru.

“There are over 50 professors of Zuru extraction in the country at the moment,” said the UNIJos VC, represented by Mall. Isa Likita Mohammed.
Na’Allah, a member of the 9th Senate from Kebbi State, while speaking, decried the absence of mutual synergy and love among the people of Zuru.
He however, commended the author for documenting the rich cultural heritage of Zuru kingdom and its natives.
According to him, Zuru people have consistently remain divided, hence they are finding it difficult to address the challenges bedeviling their historical Kebbi town.
The author, Bawa Amos, has written six other books on various aspects of the Zuru people, their culture and rich tradition, PRNigeria learnt.
In his speech, Bawa, appreciated the contributions of some Zuru intellectuals towards the publication and launching of his book.
