How EFCC Secured 2,210 Convictions in 8 Months – Bawa
The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa, said their anti-corruption agency have already secured 2,210 convictions in various economic and financial crimes it is prosecuting.
The convictions were secured between January and August 5 this year, he said.
Bawa, made this known while declaring open a workshop on Economic and Financial Crimes Reporting for Journalists covering the Commission.

According to the EFCC Chairman, the 2,210 convictions they have secured in 2022 are only lesser than the 2,220 convictions their anti-graft body recorded in the entire 2021, by 10.
He further disclosed that the EFCC played a critical role in ensuring that the FOREX rate falls drastically from over N700 to within N600.
Bawa pointed out that the war against corruption in Nigeria is a worthy fight for the soul of Nigeria for the future generation, hence shouldn’t be left alone for the EFCC.
“So far, the media has been helpful. If nothing else the Commission’s activities enjoy the visibility that makes it a reference point for effectiveness in law enforcement in Nigeria,” said the EFCC boss.
