The Jos Prisons’ Adult School graduates first set of students in a colourful ceremony. The controller of Prisons Plateau State Command Noel Ailewon represented by the officer in-charge Jos Prison- Controller of Prisons Y. A. Sambo congratulated the graduating students and admonished them to make proper use of the knowledge offered by the Prisons authority in order to earn for themselves better life after discharge. The Principal of the Jos Prisons Adult School ASPI Uguoke Kelvin Abuchi also opined that the Prisons Authority have the capacity to educate inmates, therefore urged them to avail themselves for training.

The graduating students include: 10 Senior Secondary School students (inmates) who sat for external National Examination Council (NECO) exams under the sponsorship of the Christ Embassy Church, Jos Province, 22 inmates were also graduated from the Junior Secondary Section to the Senior Secondary section and 27 inmates graduated from the Primary School Section to the Secondary School.
The Head Boy of the Jos Prison’s Adult School on behalf of the students commended the effort put in place by the Nigerian Prisons Service in ensuring that the inmates of Jos Prison get education. He however, enumerated challenges bedeviling the school to include, inadequate class rooms, learning materials and teachers.
Academic awards were also presented to the best graduating student in academics, the most punctual student, the most dedicated student in the Senior Secondary Section, Junior Secondary and the Primary school section respectfully.
