Accountant-General of the Federation, Mr. Ahmed Idris has applauded the Nigeria Police for keying-in to the IPPIS and other Public Finance Reforms initiatives being implemented by the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation.
Mr Idris made this commendation when he received in audience the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim kpotun Idris and his team, who were at the Treasury house for a courtesy visit on the AGF.
He particularly commended  the Nigeria Police for supporting and embracing the TSA policy, saying the Police has now been fully integrated  into the TSA  and is currently being enrolled on the IPPIS platform, which according to him will help to effectively manage the wage burden of the government.
Extolling the cordial relationship which exist between the OAGF and the Nigeria police, the AGF called for more collaboration between both organisations, assuring that the OAGF will continue to do all in its power to support the success of police operations  in order to bring peace and stability to the country.
The AGF congratulated the Inspector General of Police on his appointment  and prayed   God’s guidance and protection on him throughout his tenure and beyond.
In his remarks, the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris expressed appreciation to the Accountant-General and his team for the support the Nigeria Police has been receiving from  the office.
Describing the Nigeria Police as the largest single Agency of Government in Nigeria and Africa, with the highest number of employees nearing over 300,000 personnel,  IGP said maintaining and running their operation can be quite challenging and  requires the support of other government agencies especially, in the areas of release of funds, to ensure the success of security operations in the country.
He promised that the Nigerian police will continue to support plans aimed at institutionalizing  transparency in public finance management and in line with that, he said that Zones and State Police Commands have been instructed to cooperate and support the on-going nation-wide Police  enrollment into the IPPIS, in order to make it a success.
