PHOTOS: BUK Class ’92 Marks 30th Graduation Anniversary, Donates N2m to Indigent Students

PHOTOS: BUK Class ’92 Marks 30th Graduation Anniversary, Donates N2m to Indigent Students

In line with its annual tradition of supporting Bayero University, Kano, BUK’s students from humble backgrounds, the B.U.K Class ’92 Forum has again donated the sum of N2 million to indigent students of their alma-matter.

The donation, however, will be made into the B.U.K Indigent Students Account, said Muhammad Dahiru Sa’ad, the Chairman of the ’92 Class.

Dahiru Sa’ad disclosed this when he led members of the Forum on a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of the school, Prof. Sagir Abbas.

According to him, this year marks their 30th anniversary and in showing gratitude to God Almighty for having kept them alive and having brought them this far, they intend marking their 2022 reunion in a grand style.

The ’92 Class Chairman informed the VC that their Forum has consistently been donating in cash and kind to various orphanages, assisting flood victims; freeing prison inmates and assisting them with start-up capitals to start a business, while also assisting some of their members who have medical challenges, among other humanitarian activities.

Dahiru Sa’ad said their Forum is planning to build a more permanent structure of giving back to the society, that will outlive them.

“As an Alumni, we adopted a three-pronged approach to our activities which are to help our Alma Mater, to help members amongst us that need help and to help humanity and give back to the society at large.

“We are extremely joyous that we have been able to set a good example for other sets of the school to follow. Hence we take pride in our logo that aptly says ‘We lead, others follow. We set the pace, others follow.’ Mr Vice Chancellor Sir, we are happy to inform you that your old students of class ’92 are worthy ambassadors of Bayero University, Kano”.

Speaking on behalf the Vice Chancellor, the Chief Libararian of Bayero University Kano, Dr Musa Auyo commended the old student for its annual interventions and donations to the university and other communities.
