Sunday Morning Fatal Accident Kills 7 in Bauchi

Today 22/1/2017 at about 10:30hrs, there was an accident at Kula village along Bauchi - Kano road, involving a Honda Civic Car, Red in colour, with registration number,AM 41 TRN, driven by one Inusa Sale male of Nasaru Village in Ningi LGA of Bauchi State Conveying Six 6 passengers, and a grey coloured Sharoon Bus with registration number, BAU 844 AE, driven by one Babawo Dan'azumi male of Bauchi town conveying Five (5) passengers. Accident occurred when the Honda Civic driver was coming from Kano direction on high speed, on reaching a bend at Kula village,the driver loss control while trying to overtake another vehicle and had a head on collision with the Sharon Bus coming from Bauchi direction. As a result, Twelve persons from both vehicles sustained various degrees of injuries. Police Patrol Team attached to Ganjuwa Division led by the DPO visited the scene and rushed victims to General hospital Kafin Madaki for medical attention where Seven casualties including the driver of the Honda civic were certified death by a medical doctor while receiving treatment as follows,

Niger equips vigilante groups with motorcycles

In a bid to curtail criminal activities in rural areas with un-motorable terrain, Niger State Government is to equip Police and Vigilante groups with Motorcycles for effective surveillance, check mate the rising wave of crime and enhance security in the areas. To this end, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello on Wednesday at the Government House, Minna flagged off the first phase of distribution of 90 motorcycles to vigilante groups in 3 local government areas in the state. Muyan, Shiroro and Rafi Local government areas are to benefit under the first phase od the scheme. Governor Sani Bello explained that government decision to purchase and distribute the motorcycles was informed by the inability of security agencies and the local vigilantees to track down criminals due to road terrain of the rural areas.
