EFCC Boss, Magu Faces Contempt Charge over Disobedience to Court Order

A contempt charge has been filed against EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu seeking to commit him to prison by an Abuja High Court over his alleged disobedience to court order.

The contempt charge contained on Form 49 of the Abuja High Court on the EFCC boss is asking him to show cause why he should not be committed to prison.

Austrian Contractor: Judge Berates EFCC for Intimidating Court

An Abuja High Court Judge, Justice Peter Affen has berated the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly intimidating his court and for attempting to stall a case involving it and an Austrian Security contractor, Mr. Wolfgang Wolfgang Reinl who sued the anti-graft agency for N2b for allegedly detaining him since last year without trial.

Dasuki to Appeal Judgement on Unlawful Detention

The judge ruled that though EFCC and DSS re both federal agencies, the wrongdoing of one could not be blamed on other. Dasuki's lawyers say: "if justice must be served, then counsels must be allowed unfettered access to their clients.

Dasuki: Late Arrival from Custody Stalls Trial

DSS only produced ex-NSA Dasuki in court after Justice Affen had adjourned the case. Ex-NSA lawyer, Mr Daudu had argued in court that the prosecution lacked the right to continue to prosecute Dasuki for flagrant disobedience of bails granted to Dasuki from three courts.
