The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Mr. Danladi Kifasi has advocated inter-cultural marriage as panacea for the incessant insurgency and spate of violence Nigerian is currently facing.

Mr. Kifasi who was speaking at the wedding ceremony of his daughter in Abuja recently noted that when persons from one cultural background is allowed to marry from another region, with different cultural background, there would be mutual respect and acceptance between them thereby leading to unity in the country.

He said that as an agent of peace, he gave out his first daughter in marriage to someone from the southeast, even though he is from the north.

“You seen determination is all you need to succeed. My brother went from Taraba to Adamawa to marry and my own daughter married a man from Imo State, this shows that iam from a family that believes in God and we see ourselves as one.

Inter-cultural marriage will greatly help when violence occurs. Imagine when Igbos and northerners are fighting, for instance, there is every possibility that my daughter will be safe in Imo State, while my son-in-low will also be secured in Taraba because they have become one”, he explained.

Speaking further, the Head of Service urged the new couples to be determined and resilient towards achieving peace as there is no gain in having quarrels and violence in life.
