A bill for an Act to repeal and reenact the Standards Organization of Nigeria Act CAP S9 LFN 2003 for the purpose of providing additional functions for the Organisation, increasing penalty for violation and for other related matters yesterday at the floor of the Senate passed second reading. The bill which was co sponsored by the Senate Leader, Senator Victor Ndoma Egba and Senator Nenadi E. Usman was referred to the Committee on Investment.

 

Also yesterday, the Local refineries Licensing bill 2014 presented by Senator Magnus Abe passed first reading.

 

The Senate President also read out correspondence from the President and Commander in Chief, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for the confirmation of Barrister Bimbola Salaudeen from Lagos State as a member of the National Population Commission.

 

The Senate adjourned plenary till 16th December, 2014.
