A delegation of the United States Embassy in Nigeria on Wednesday paid a familiarization visit to the newly established Centre for Crisis Communication (CCC) at its headquarters in Jabi Abuja. The Embassy officials led by Steve Vestel used the opportunity to congratulate Air Commodore Yusuf Anas (rtd) on his appointment as the Executive Secretary of the Centre.
He expressed confidence that the centre will play invaluable role in crisis information and communication management in Nigeria. Mr. Vestel also expressed the Embassy’s readiness to explore areas of collaboration with the Centre with a view to assisting it achieve the set objectives.

Earlier in his welcome remarks, the Executive Secretary thanked the Embassy officials for finding time to visit the new centre. He enumerated the role which the Centre is set to play including providing coordinated platform for early warning alerts on crisis, timely response to crisis situation and sensitization campaigns on crisis prevention, mitigation and management. According to him, the Centre which Non-Governmental Organisation will be engaged in research and publication of crisis information management in Nigeria.
