The Wife of the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria Her Excellency, Aisha Muhammadu Buhari has appealed to parents to be vigilant and Counsel their Children to avoid falling a prey to temptations that could have negative influence on their livelihood.
Mrs. Buhari made this appeal while delivering a goodwill message at the occasion of the United Nations International Youth Day Celebration at Nicon Hilton Luxury Hotel Abuja, 13th August, 2015.
She commended the organizers for coming out with a theme “Youth Civil Engagement” Drugs, Crime violence and corruption A Threat to National Development’

Mrs Buhari said considering the high rate of drug abuse and consumption amongst our Youths today not only in Nigeria but all over the world, there is the need to enlighten the Youth against the dangers associated with crime and drug and urged that Youth should engage themselves in productive ventures as the present Administration is working towards Youth Development.
Earlier, the coordination, Mr. Felix Ihonre said the Youth have organised themselves to be advocate of positive change and are ready to work with Her Excellency the Wife of the President. Adding that, when Youth are not involved in concrete activities they become drug addicts, kidnappers and Boko Haram members.
The speaker Nigerian Youth parliament RT. Hon. Abba Waziri in his message said, whatever the leadership does, affects the Youth and plead that Government should encourage the Youth to go into small scale enterprise and a little loan to the youth can go far, also, entertainment Industry and sporting activities if encouraged can reduce the rate of crime and drugs that bedevilled the youth he said.
