The Minister of State Industry, Trade and Investment Hajia Aisha Abubakar has reaffirmed the commitment of the Federal Government to develop the non oil sector. The Minister stated this while receiving the Ukrainian Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency, Dr. Valerii Aleksandruk in her office
Hajia Abubakar who described Nigeria as a wonderful country blessed with tremendous natural resources said the current administration is set to move the country from over dependence on crude oil. She therefore praised the decision of the Ambassador to encourage more businessmen in
Ukraine to come and invest in Nigeria adding that Nigeria is willing to have as many business partners as possible.
Earlier, Ambassador Aleksandruk disclosed that he was in the Ministry to seek greater economic cooperation between Nigeria and Ukraine so as to have a reciprocal promotion and protection of investments. He said his country considers Nigeria as a very important partner adding that more companies are being encouraged to come and invest in the country especially in the areas of mining, manufacturing, renewable energy and infrastructural development.
The Ambassador further said, the confidence which Ukraine has in Nigeria was responsible for the presence of large number of it’s businessmen in the country. He urged the Nigerian government to send a powerful delegation to Ukraine to discuss bilateral prospects.
