Following the intervention of the Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment Dr. Clement Illoh on the impasses between the Construction and Civil Engineering Employers Association of Nigeria (CCEEAN) and the National Union of Civil Engineering Construction, Furniture and Wood Workers (NUCECFWW), the Union has suspended the ongoing industrial action\strike to enable meaningful social dialogue to commence and continue on the issues in dispute.

The decision to suspend the strike was reached at the end of fruitful deliberations with both parties, where it was resolved that the Union should suspend the ongoing industrial action and the employers and the Union should reopen and continue the negotiation.

It was also agreed that parties should report to the Ministry of Labour and Employment on the extent of progress or conclusions of the National Joint Industrial Council (NJIC) negotiation within the next three weeks, as (NJIC) remains critical in the sustenance of Industrial peace and harmony in the industry

The meeting resolved that there shall be no victimization of any worker as a result of the industrial action.
