
Mr. Idris made this declaration today, while receiving members of the Business Administration Class of ’84, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, who were on at the Treasury House, today, 4th May, 2016, to felicitate with him on his appointment into the IPSASB- CAG.
The AGF who made it clear that the appointment was not all about him, but about the global recognition of giant strides Nigeria has made in implementing reforms in the public finance management.
He said that although these reforms such as the GIFMIS, e-payment, IPSAS and the TSA were started by previous administration, but it was only the present administration that had the zeal and political will to drive them to the present state of implementation where they have been noticed and recognized by International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board and other global bodies.
Mr. Idris assured that he will discharge his duties creditably and use his position to advance the course of Nigeria and Africa in general while serving on the board.
Earlier in his remarks, the leader of the team, Prof. Mike Ikupolati eulogized the Accountant -General of the Federation on his appointment saying that the appointment will enable the world to see the quality of human capacity in Nigeria.
He described Mr. Idris as a role model, man of integrity, honesty, who has fear of God and an embodiment of the principles of accountability and transparency of the present administration.
In a similar development, the AGF also receives the President and members of the Association of Women Professional Managers who also visited to congratulate him on the same appointment.
The President of the Association, Mrs. Enape Victoria Aishetu described the appointment as well deserved saying it was the first time a Nigerian will be appointed to serve in such capacity.
She assured the AGF of the support of the Association and prayed God to grant Mr. Idris wisdom to succeed on this assignment.
