FG to donate Science and Technology equipment for schools

Onu-1The Federal government has concluded plans to donate Science and Technology equipment to selective Schools across the country.
The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya  Onu disclosed  this at the introduction of Tablet Technology at the Regent Primary School , Abuja.
The Minister also indicated that the ministry will set up science and technology museum that will help students to understand Science technology and engineering thereby making them easier and attractive to the students.
Dr. Onu expressed his appreciation to the management of Regent Schools for introducing the children to the world of technology by providing them with a guide to the world by introducing the tablet to them.
According to him, what is happening in Regent School is in line with vision of the present administration to add value by moving from resources based to knowledge based economy which enable the nation will create jobs and move invention and innovations from laboratories to products and services.
He noted that no nation is great without Science and technology and stressed that the difference between developing and developed countries is purely the utilization of science and technology.
The Minister stressed that “when we invest in Science and technology we would have the capacity to build our roads, seaport and airports and this would give us national pride”. According to Dr. Onu, “it is important for world peace that Nigeria becomes a strong nation”.
He challenged   the school to aspire to produce the next astronaut and Olympic gold medalist.
The Headmaster of the school Michael Dickson said that the introduction of tablet technology in schools is to complement what the teacher does and make teaching exciting.
