He is Engr Hamadu Musa Kidii the current Chairman, Rivers Basket Association and South South Zone Representative on the new board of the NBBF as well as current Secretary General FIBA African Zone 3.

The new heldsman was returned unopposed by 36 members comprising elected delegate members and Zonal Representatives from across the country in an election conducted today at the Grand Ibro Hotel, Zone 5 Wuse Abuja in line with the guidelines approved by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and supervised by the Nigerian Olympic Committee.
A new Vice President of the Federation also emerged unopposed. He is Mr Babatunde Ogunade the South West Zone Representative on the new board of the Federation.
Addressing newsmen shortly after his swearing in, the new President promised to ensure a united house for the Federation, take basket ball to all nooks and crannies of the country and popularize the sport such that Basketball will compare favourably with if not surpass football in Nigeria.
Kida also pledged to promote the game to the level that Nigeria will become the preferred destination in Africa for both players and sponsors, and ensures that players and coaches earn good income from the sport.
