Borno Police Restrict Vehicular Movement on Sallah

Muslim faithfuls are once again celebrating this year’s Eid-El-Kabir Sallah slated for 1st and 2nd September, 2017. As such, Borno state police command wishes to reiterate and to assure the peace loving people of the state, of its commitment towards ensuring a crimine free sallah celebration.

In pursuance therefore, there will be restriction of vehicular movements until after the Eid prayers on 1/9/2017. The restriction though regretted, will include the use of motor vehicles, tricycles, bicycles and animals except those on essential duties.

Muslim faithfuls are advised to pray at Eid prayer grounds close to their homes, and to ensure they go early enough for security screening. And to avoid the usual rush when prayers are about to commence thereby compromising the emplaced security screening measures.

Parents who go to prayer grounds with their children /wards, are equally advised to take proper care of them, so as to avert incidences of missing children. In addition,, the public, especially youths who carry knives and other dangerous weapons on their persons to prayer grounds or recreation parks like the zoo, are by this released, warned that if arrested, they would be treated as common criminals and prosecuted.

While wishing all and sundry a happy sallah celebration, the command advises the general public to be security conscious at all times, and to report promptly a y strange or suspicious person(s), movements or object(s) to the nearest police officer /station or other security services.
