The inspection tour commenced barely a month after he assumed duty as the new Controller of Prisons Incharge of Bauchi Command.

During the inspection tour, the Controller inspected prison books, interacted with both staff and inmates of the various prisons. He urged the staff to be disciplined and diligent in the discharge of their duties, avoid trafficking of items in and out of the prisons, and guard against spreading rumors and indiscriminate taking of loans that could lead to financial embarrassment. The Controller also admonished prison inmates to remain calm and peaceful in their Prisons. He assured them of the Service’s readiness to cater for their welfare and assured the awaiting trials amongst them that they would be taken to courts for their trials as at when due. The Controller commended the officers Incharge stations for the quality of ration they give the inmates. He also commended them for the good working synergy between the Prisons and other security agencies in their domains as he was jointly received by other security services in most of the Prisons he visited. He implored them to maintain the good relationship.

The Controller of Prisons Sulaiman T. Sulaiman also took his time to visit Emirs and District Heads in all the Prisons he visited. He commended the traditional institutions for the support they give to Prisons in their respective domains. He urged them to continue assisting the Prisons where necessary as government alone cannot shoulder the responsibility.
