The Borno State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Damian A. Chukwu psc has been confered with the award of “Most Outstanding Police Commissioner in the North-East.
The organisers of the award and the Publishers of “Nigeria Security Matters Magazine ” presented the commissioner with the award in Maiduguri.
Presenting the award, the Editor -in-chief of the magazine, Mr Crescent Ogbu, said the magazine advertised and consulted widely for nominations from Media and Civil Society organizations in the North East, and Cp. Damian A. Chukwu eventually emerged as the “Most Outstanding Commissioner of police in the north east 2017”.
Responding, Cp Damian A. Chukwu thanked the Inspector General of police IGP Ibrahim K. Idris, NPM, mni, whom he had earlier informed and sought his permission to receive the award.
He thanked the Editorial board and publishers of the Nigeria Security Matters Magazine for the recognition, and said the award was made possible because of the tacit support he got from his Management team, Formation Commanders, Officers and men of the command. He also used the opportunity to thank His Excellency, Hon. Kashim Shettima, Executive Governor of Borno state, for his sundry supports and assistance to the command.
A similar award was conferred on Cp. Damian A.. Chukwu by Network of Civil Society Organizations in Nigeria in September 2017.
