Gov Sani-Bello Applauds Oil Exploration in Niger State

Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has applauded efforts by the Federal Government to complete some Federal Projects in the state.

Some of the Federal Projects recieving attention are Minna- Suleja road, Mokwa-Jebba road, oil exploration in Bida Basin, Kontagora Dam as well as a Grains Processing Zone.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello said all the federal projects would further open up the state, boost its economy, boost agriculture across all the value chains, generate employment and enhance the state revenue.

The Governor also welcome FGs decision to support on going search for oil in Bida Basin as well as resuscitation and completion of the construction of Kontagora Dam and irrigation project worth N40Billion stressing that the Federal Governments presence in the state would bring tremendous progress and enrich the lives of Nigerlites.

Governor Sani Bello explained that attracting federal presence in the state was a result of his administration’s intense lobbying and frequent follow-ups adding that such follow-ups were necessary in a democratic setting.

He listed the Minna – Suleja road, Mokwa – Jebba – Bokani-Mokwa-Jebba road and bridges as some of the ongoing federal interventions that were facilitated by such follow-ups.

The Governor expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for graciously approving the projects stressing that the state deserved such federal presence in view of its status as a satellite town which ceded greater part of its land to the Federal capital, Abuja.

The Governor commended Vice President Yomi Osibanjo for visiting Jebba for on -the -spot assessment of Mokwa-Jebba road.

Governor Sani Bello also appreciated the efforts of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh, Minister Water Resources, Alhaji Sulieman Adamu, Minister of Power, Works and Transport, Alhaji Babatunde Raji Fashola for their various contributions towards the actualisation of the projects.

He reiterated his administration’s determination to execute laudable projects that have positive social consequences for the collective good of all the people.

“We intend to put Niger State on a positive economic pedestal. So, we will continue to do all that is humanely possible to actualise our goal by increasingly wooing investors and doing regular follow-ups in order to bring valuable projects to the state”.
