NSCDC Deploys 45,000 Personnel for Yuletide Security Operations

NSCDC Deploys 45,000 Personnel for Yuletide Security Operations

Ahead of the yuletide season, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Abdullahi Gana Muhammadu has directed the immediate deployment of 45,000 personnel, sniffer dogs, specialised Units such as SWAT, CBRN, Emergency and Rescue Team, Ambulances and Mobile Surveillance Vehicle to every nooks and crannies of the country to ensure a hitch free celebrations.

The Commandant General gave this directives, while addressing his management team in his National Headquarters office in Sauka, Abuja.

Gana noted that, the deployment will be with immediate effect to all strategic locations nationwide, urging all States Commandants to ensure they carry out this order without delay, while making sure that all black spots shopping malls, recreation centres, markets square worship centres, hotels and Critical Infrastructure and Assets are well manned and secured.

Similarly, in ensuring effective deployment, Monitoring and Supervision, the Commandant General has cancelled leave of all senior officers and directed that those on leave be recalled back during this yuletide season in order to beef up security considering the fact that people who engaged in nefarious activities usually take advantage of festive periods when the people will be seriously engaged in the mood of celebration.

Therefore, he wants all hands to be on deck as massive deployment be made to all nooks and crannies with effective supervision.

He called for synergy among the security Agencies and warned the Corps personnel to be civil and diplomatic in the discharge of their duty bearing in mind that anyone fingered on any form of crisis shall be dealt with accordingly.

The CG charged all Nigerian to stay out of trouble and go about their celebrations in a peaceful and loving manner, as anyone found wanting will face the full wrath of the law.

In the same vein the Commandant General called on all Nigerians to emulate the qualities of Jesus Christ by being ”Christ like” because He is the reason for the season. He reiterated this point when he encouraged all Christians and indeed all Nigerians to use the birth of Jesus Christ to preach peace and embrace everyone irrespective of religious affiliations and pray for the peace of the nation.

The Leader of the Civil Defence said, ”Christmas is a season of joy, peace and love when people should not only eat, drink and merry for the good works of our Lord Jesus Christ, but should also be a moment for sober reflection. Upgrade where necessary and adjust where also necessary.”

He warned that, hoarding, black marketing and diversion of petroleum products during this season in order to sabotage the effort of the government will not be tolerated  as the Corps Special Task Force its out to clampdown on any Marketer, filing station owners and their likes
