Fire Destroys Baga fish market in Maiduguri- NEMA
The popular Baga Fish Market along Maimalari Barrack in Maiduguri, Borno State was engulfed in heavy fire incident which destroyed many shops and properties on Sunday evening.
The spokesperson of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), North-East in Maiduguri, Abdulkadir Ibrahim disclosed that not life was lost due to the inferno.
He said: “Fire engulfed Baga Road Fish market Maiduguri around 8.40pm on Sunday evening.

“Response agencies, especially fire fighters and rescue workers responded immediately to the scene to control the fire incident from spreading to other places.
“No life was lost even though properties worth millions of Naira were destroyed,” he concluded.
PRNigeria gathered that the fire incident could have been triggered by faulty electric appliances rather than suicide bombing.
Traders had closed for the day when the incident occurred.
