New Niger Prison Controller Resumes in Minna
Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani-Bello has pledged his administration continuous support to the Nigeria Prison Service in improving security for inmates and the command.
Governor Sani-Bello stated this when he received the new State Controller of Prison, Alhaji Mustapha Iliyasu Atta at the Government House in Minna.
The Governor expressed his administration readiness to give necessary support to the new prison controller to enable him succeed in his new assignment.
He added that his administration would support the command in tackling some of the challenges bedeviling the service such as welfare of the inmates and facility upgrade for the environment.
It will be recall that the Governor alongside Minister of Interior, Gen. Abdulrama Danbazau and CGP. Ja’afaru Ahmed, during on the spot assessment visit to MSP Tunga Minna on 4th June, 2018, promise to partner with the prison authority to surmount some of the challenges confronting the service and to avert future occurrence of that ugly attack on prison facility.
Earlier, Comptroller Mustapha Iliyasu Atta commended the Governor for the warm welcome irrespective of his tight schedule.
The controller pledged to prioritise security and welfare of inmates, saying that he would not leave any stone unturned in ensuring a secured, peaceful and safe Niger state especially prison formations in the state.
