Fire Destroys 22 Shops in Anambra
On the 13/11/2018 at about 10:10pm, there was a fire outbreak at Ekene Workshop cluster of Polythene Factories located at Awada in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State.
Upon receipt of the distress, Police Patrol team attached to Awada Division led by the DPO CSP Tony Adeyi rushed to the scene and cordoned off the Area for rescue mission and to prevent looters from taking advantage and Steal.

Meanwhile, Fire Service department was contacted but before their arrival, the fire was eventually contained through concerted efforts by the Community who rushed to the scene and put off the fire.
Preliminary inquiry revealed that the fire was suspected to have emanated from electric spark which affected about 22 shops, Several types of machinery, finished products, raw materials and other properties whose values are yet to be ascertained were destroyed.
It would also be recalled that Similar incident occurred at the same location sometimes in February, 2018.
Investigation is ongoing to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident.
