Nigeria, Brazil to Tackle Insecurity in the Gulf of Guinea
The Hon Minister of Defence Mansur Dan-Ali has sought for a closer cooperation with the Brazilian Government especially in the fight against Boko Haram terrorism and piracy along the Gulf of Guinea.
The Minister made the call while visiting his Brazilian counterpart Mr Fernando Azevedo E Silva at Rio De Janeiro Brazil.
According to him terrorism is a global phenomena that need to be addressed jointly by all nations. He thanked the Brazilian government for its efforts towards promoting global peace and security.
The Defence Minister also hailed the relationship between the Nigerian Navy and Brazilian Navy especially in the provision of security along the Gulf of Gunea.

The Minister also request the Brazilian Ministry of Defence to parter with DICON with a view of upgrading its services to realise the Government ambition of establishing a Military Industrial Complex in Nigeria.
The Minister also informed his host that Nigeria will soon start sending its Officers to Brazil for training.
In his response the Brazilian Defence Minister thanked the Minister for his visit and assure him of the committment and support of the Brazilian Government to Nigeria in its urge to eradicate insurgency and terrorism in the sub region.
The Minister was accompanied during the visit by H.E Mr Christopher Okeke, Nigerian Ambassasor to Brazil, Mr Ashibel Utsu Director airforce Affairs MOD, AVM Emmanuel Wonah representing Nigerian Airforce and Brig Gen Obinna Ajunwa Nigeria Defence Adviser to Brazil.
The Hon Minister also visits Embarear a military aircraft manufacturing company located at Sulscap in Rio and inspects its latest productions.
