Police Nab Notorious One-Chance Robbery Syndicate, 37 Cultists

Police Nab Notorious One-Chance Robbery Syndicate, 37 Cultists

On the 1/7/2019 at about 5:50am,puff adder operatives in conjunction with Patrol team attached to Fegge Division arrested at upper Iweka Onitsha one Ifeanyi Njoke ‘m’ of Agbor in Delta State,

2. Suspect belonged to the notorious one chance robbery syndicate terrorizing innocent citizens at upper Iweka and dispossesing them of their valuables.

3. Exhibits recovered from the suspect include one locally made double barrel pistol with two rounds of life ammunition.

4. Case under investigation after which suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution.

5. Meanwhile, on the 2/7/2019 at about 4:30am, following a tip off, puff adder operatives in conjunction with the Command Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) arrested the following suspected armed robbery syndicate,

(I). Izuchukwu Ikwuabo ‘m’ aged 35 years,
(iI).Chidi Ihekuna aka (Legit) ‘m’ aged 34 years, (Iii). Nonso Nnadozie ‘m’ aka (small)l aged 34 years,
(Iv).Chibueze George ‘m’ aka( Dove) aged 28 years and
(v). Paul Ngwueche ‘m’ aka (native doctor) aged 26 years.

6. Suspects were arrested in their hideouts within Okija, Mgbidi Imo State and Imuhu Enugu States respectively.

7. They have confessed to have participated in series of armed robbery and kidnapping incidents within Anamabra State.

8. Exhibits recovered from the suspects includes 12 rounds of ..9mm ammunition and 3 ATM cards belonging to different victims of their robbery attacks.

9. Case under investigation after which suspects would be brought to Justice.

10. Consequently, Police operatives attached to the Command Puff Adder operatives in conjunction with Special Anti Cult unit (SPACS) arrested at various locations within the State 37 suspected cultists in continuation of its Raids on their hideouts and blackspots as follows,

11. On 24/06/2019 at UKPOR axis, 08 suspected cultists arrested. On 25/06 /2019 at MBOSI , 06 suspected cultists arrested. 0n 26 /06 /2019 at IHIALA axis , 04 suspected cultists arrested. On 27/06/2019 at UMUNYA , 05 suspected cultists arrested. On 28/06/2019, at ULI, 06 suspected cultists arrested. On 29/06/2019, at OBOSI , 04 suspected cultists arrested. On 30/06/2019, at IHIALA axis, 04 suspected cultists arrested.

12.From all the raids carried out, a total of 37 suspects were arrested out of which 18 were screened out, 08 suspects were charged to court. 04 suspects were placed under police supervision for being under aged while 07 suspects are undergoing investigation.

13. Exhibits recovered from the suspects who confessed of being members of different secret cult groups include, 06 machetes, 03 improvised bunkers, 03 axes, one berret of vikings confraternity and weed suspected to be cannabis sativa.
