John Abang Resumes as Anambra Police Commissioner

CP John Bassey Abang fdc, is a native of Ogoja in Cross River State, he was born on the 29th February, 1962 and holds a Bachelor Degree Bsc (HONS) in International Studies and Post Graduate Diploma in Criminal Justice Administration from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and UNILAG respectively.

He joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet ASP on the 15th March, 1988.Since then, he occupied various positions in the Nigeria Police Force which included but not limited to the followings,

-Divisional Beat /Patrol Officer, Divisional Admin Officer, divisional traffic officer at Ikom Division in Cross River State between 1989-1990.

-Unit Commander MOPOL 11 PMF Squadron Calabar in Cross River between (1990-1995).

-Pioneer Squadron Commander MOPOL 29 PMF Awka in Anambra State between 1999-2000.

-2i/c Ota Area Command, OC Special Enquiry Bureau and Command Pay Master, Ogun State Command between 2000 -2002.

-Commandant Police Mobile Training College, Gwoza between 2004/2007.

– Squadron Commander MOPOL 6 PMF Maiduguri, 2007.

-Assistant Commissioner of Police Incharge of Operations Department, Borno State Police Command.

CP J B.ABANG fdc has attended several professional courses, Seminars and workshops both within and outside Nigeria some of which includes Combat Operations Course, Armoured Personnel Carrier Operations Course, Squadron Commander PMF Operations management Course respectively.

Furthermore, Cp JB Abang attended the Peace Support Operations in Vicenza Italy and Anti terrorism/ management course with the French National Police in Paris, France.

CP John B. Abang also attended the National Defence College Abuja and has utilized his wealth of experience largely in Operations and investigations of high profile cases such as Armed banditry, kidnappings etc.

He is the recipient of many certificates of Commendations and Awards for bravery, hard work and Selfless Service.

His hobbies are playing golf and driving.
