Gunmen Attack Travellers around Kaduna Train Station
There is a growing concern about activities of hoodlums and criminals around Kaduna Railways Station as gunmen allegedly attacked travellers after the arrival of the last train in the evening.
The incident occurred while the travellers were going to their various destination after they disembarked from the station.
One of the witnesses to the incident who spoke to PRNigeria said that the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. when passengers brought by the last train were on their way to their destinations on Friday night through the airport road.
Pleading anonymity, the travellers said: “I escaped an armed siege just between the train station in Kaduna and the airport expressway.
“I actually found myself in the midst of firing from the bushes and about two cars already lost control in my front and others were coming.

“I kept my cool, did a very sharp turn and sped back towards the station. I alerted the soldiers there who mobilized quickly.
“All cars were already turning and taking alternative routes. I was later informed the soldiers were even engaged in a shoot out with the gunmen. I didn’t know how the instincts came up to charge through the ambush but all thanks be to God Almighty.
“I have checked and no bullet hole on my car. Even as I made that turn, I was hearing the shootings and seeing flashes from the bush all around me. Couldn’t have been anything less than two sections of men (20) with small arms. The situation is getting worrisome. Please be vigilant everywhere up north here.”
However, the Police in Kaduna said nothing like that happened.
The State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Yakubu Sabo, when contacted debunked the report.
The police spokesperson said: “The DPO Railway Station said the joint task force of police and Army raided some villages around the area which were believed to be harbouring criminals and maybe people heard the gunshots and think it was an attack.”
