Fuel Tanker: Again, Police, Fire Service Avert Fire Disaster in Anambra

Be informed that today 28/1/2020 at about 2:30pm,a Mack Tanker with Reg No JJJ 106 XU fully loaded with cooking gas lost control and crashed into the pavement of Onitsha/Awka Express way, about 150m away from the Pedestrian Bridge, MCC, Onitsha.

The police and other emergency responders are on ground. Traffic has been diverted to a safer lane/route.

Members of the public are kindly advised to keep off the area in view of the combustible nature of the product that the truck involved in the accident is carrying until the situation is brought under control and obstruction cleared please.

TANKER LOADED WITH COOKING GAS FALLS INTO GUTTER AT UPPER IWEKE
At about 2.30pm today 28 January, 2020 a tanker with registration number JJJ106XU, laden with local cooking gas was reported to have crashed into a gutter at Upper Iweka, Opposite Romchi Mass Transit, along Onitsha- Awka Expressway.

2. The Fire Service was alerted immediately and the area has been cordoned off, as traffic is being managed by FRSC Operatives.

3. The driver of the tanker took to his heels as soon as the crash occurred. It is however believed that the crashed occurred as a result of fatigue.

4. Motorists should approach with caution., please.
