Police to Rescue Abducted FGC Student, Arrest 5 Robbery Suspects in Abuja

FCT POLICE COMMAND LAUNCHES OPERATION TO RESCUE A STUDENT ABDUCTED IN RUBOCHI
The Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Bala Ciroma has ordered a discreet investigation into the suspected abduction of one Gift Abiikor 17 years ‘m’, a student of Federal Government College Rubochi, from the residence of one Ahmed Adamu by some unknown armed men in the early hours of Tuesday 28th January, 2020.

2. According to Ahmed Adamu who reported the incident to the police, some armed men stormed his house at about 0100hrs and abducted one Gift Abiikor who was sleeping on the same bed with his (Ahmed Adamu) children.

3. The unfortunate incident happened at the residence of Ahmed Adamu, which is outside the premises of Federal Government College Rubochi.

4. Meanwhile, the Command is reassuring members of the public that it is making concerted effort to rescue the victim and unravel the circumstances behind his abduction.

POLICE ARREST FIVE SUSPECTS/ RECOVERY OF EXHIBITS
In line with the commitment of the FCT Police Command to protect lives and property in the Federal Capital Territory, police operatives from Wuse Division on patrol along Wuse 2, by former Amingo supermarket, arrested one Danlami Mohammed ‘m’ 20 years of no fixed address, while trying to escape after robbing and stabbing his victim on the neck with a pair of scissors.

2. The police operatives promptly rushed the injured victim to a nearby hospital where he was given necessary medical attention and admitted.

3. Meanwhile, the suspect, who was arrested on 26th January, 2020 at about 1830hrs at Wuse 2, has given further information that led to the arrest of his cohorts who also lurk around the area to attack their victims. The additional suspects arrested are: Ismaila Ahmed ‘m’ 17 years, Aliyu Yakubu ‘m’ 20 years and Abdulrahman Mohammed ‘m’ 19 years. The exhibits recovered from the suspects are: a pair of scissors, three bottles of codeine syrup, a bunch of keys and one wrap of substance suspected to be Indian hemp.

4. Similarly, on 24th January, 2020 at 1400hrs following an alarm raised by a victim, one Nura Dahiru ‘m’ 20 years was arrested by police operatives from Wuse Division for stealing a phone from a worshipper at the National Mosque. Three phones were recovered from the suspect as exhibits.

5. The suspects will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
