Kano Police Command Nabs 330 Suspects

Kano Police Command Nabs 330 Suspects

Our unwavering commitment to protection of lives and properties of the citizens is yielding positive results.

These achievements is as a result of sustained Puff-Adder Operations, robust Community Policing Engagements, Community Problem-Solving Approach, Evidence-based and Intelligence-driven Investigations, Utilization of Technology in execution of our policing mandate and the launched Campaign against Daba, Drug Abuse and other Vices.

The Command arrested Three Hundred and Thirty Eight (338) suspects from 16th January, 2020 to date.

Some of the breakthroughs are highlighted below;

*ARREST OF SUSPECTS FOR CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, ARMED ROBBERY, IMPERSONATION AND SNATCHING OF MOTOR VEHICLE*: On the 01/03/2020 at about 1200hrs, based on credible information, The Command’s Tactical Team of Operation Puff Adder attached to Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), arrested the following suspects; Saidu Aminu ‘m’ aged 30years of Jogana Village Gezawa LGA Kano State, Usman Yau ‘m’ age 24years Of Kurnar Asabe Quarters were arrested at Kofar Ruwa Quarters Kano in connection with the above mentioned offence. During the course of investigation, suspects confessed that, they have been snatching Motor vehicles from Rivers State and take them to Maradi Niger Republic to sale. On spot search at the house of the suspect Saidu Aminu of Jogana Village, a set of suspected Army Uniform, Fake Police Warrant Card, One (1) Honda EOD Motor Vehicle with Reg No. FST 844 AL and one (1) Toyota Highlander Jeep with Reg No. BDG 239 EV were recovered. Suspects confessed that the vehicles were snatched at Gun Point. Case under investigation.

*ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS*: On the 15/02/2020 at about 1000hrs, the Command’s Tactical Team of Operation Puff-Adder while acting on credible information at Rijiyan Lemo area arrested Mubarak Abdulkadir ‘m’ 20 years old and Anas Abdulkadir 24 years old, all of Rijiyar Lemo Quarters Kano. Suspects confessed to have attacked the security guards and carted Solar Batteries and Solar Panels at three various locations in Kano and Jigawa. Discreet investigation led to the recovery Three (3) Solar Panels, Sixteen (16) Solar Batteries and Eight (8) Cartons of Fluorescent Tubes in their possession at Rijiyan Lemo. The suspects alleged that the items belong to their father who is now at large. Investigation is in progress.

*ARREST OF SUSPECTS FOR CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY AND BEING IMPOSSESSION OF DRY LEAVES SUSPECTED TO BE INDIAN HEMP*: On the 29/02/2020 at about 0520hrs, based on credible information, the Command’s Tactical Team of Operation Puff Adder attached to Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) Kano, while on intelligence-led patrol at Farawa Qrts by Maiduguri Road Kano, intercepted a Truck with Reg No. KBK 798 XB offloading some suspected Cannabis in to a Golf 3 Motor Vehicle and a Tricycle. The Driver of the Truck one Abubakar Ibrahim ‘m’ 34years of Hotoro Quarters Kano, the Driver of the Golf 3 Motor Vehicle with Reg. No. XE 487 NSR, one Abdulrahman Aliyu ‘m’ 33years of Gwarzo LGA Kano and the Tricycle rider one Abubakar Sani ‘m’ 24years old of Unguwa Uku Quarters Kano were arrested. Three (3) Bags, One Hundred and Eleven (111) Parcels of Dried Leaves suspected to be Indian hemp were recovered. Investigation is in progress.

*ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT*:On the 06/02/2020, the Command’s Tactical Team of Operation Puff-Adder attached to Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) while acting on credible information at Hayan Yelwa Village, Gezawa LGA Kano, arrested one Nuhu Abdulsalam ‘m’ 38years of Adamawa State in possession of one Opel Motor Vehicle with Registration Number BWR 20 AT, blue in color as their operational Motor Vehicle containing Eighty Six (86) Cartons of Top Gun Insecticide, Forty Six (46) Bags of Powder Milk and Three (3) sets of gold jewelries. During interrogation, the suspect mentioned three others at large and confessed to have participated in different Armed Robberies and obtained the listed properties.

*ARREST OF SUSPECTS OPERATING FAKE BANK ALERT*:- On the 28/02/2020, one David Festus ‘m’ of Rangaza Quarters, Ungogo LGA Kano reported at Zango Police station Kano that on the 13/02/2020 one Muhd Sani ‘m’ and Suleiman Umar ‘m’ now at large conspired and went to their company DAG Industries Nig ltd. Located at No. 9 Nababa Badamasi Road Bompai Kano where they purchase fifteen unit of tricycles (Keke Napep) valued Nine Million, Seven Hundred and Ninety Five Thousand Naira Only (N9,795,000.00) and collected the Company Bank Account under false pretence to transfer the said amount. Later, he sent fake alert after receiving the fifteen (15) unit of the said tricycles on the 28/02/2020, the said Muhd Sani went back to the same company and attempted same motive. They arrested him and handed him over to police. Investigation is in progress. Also, on the 10/02/2020 at about 1650hrs, based on credible information, the Command’s Team of Operation Puff Adder arrested the following suspects; Bunu Lawan ‘m’ 23years and Abubakar Musa ‘m’ 22years all of Maiduguri, Borno State. Suspects specialized in duping people with Fake Bank Alerts. They were arrested after duping one Sulaiman Mohammed ‘m’ 40years old of Makera in Kakuri Area of Kaduna State, the sum of Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000.00). Suspects confessed to have specialized in the act and investigation is in progress.

*RAIDS OF CRIMINAL HIDEOUT*:- Two Hundred and Five (205) Thugs (‘Yan-Daba) were arrested after intelligence-led raids were conducted within the State. One Hundred and Fifty Six (156) were charged to court while Forty Nine (49) under investigation.

*The Summary of the achievements recorded are synopsized below*;

*Thirty Six (36) Armed Robbery suspects were arrested.*

*Twelve (12) Kidnapping suspects were arrested.*

*Two Hundred and Five (205) Thugs (‘Yan Daba) were arrested.*

*Five (5) House Breaking suspects were arrested.*

*Three (3) suspects were arrested for giving false information to the police.*

*Six (6) suspected Drug Dealers were arrested.*

*Nine (9) Motor Vehicles were recovered.*

*Four (4) Tricycles and Four (4) Motorcycles were recovered.*

*Twenty Three (23) Mobile Handsets were recovered.*

*Three (3) Solar Panels and Sixteen (16) Solar Batteries were recovered.*

*Eight (8) Cartons of stolen Fluorescent Tubes were recovered.*

*Eighty (80) sets of Women Wrappers, Eight (8) Belts, Four (4) sets of Lace Materials and Five (5) pieces of praying Mats were recovered.*

*One (1) AK47 Rifle and One (1) Fabricated AK47 Rifle with Nine (9) rounds of 9mm live ammunitions were recovered*.

*Seven (7) Locally made Guns were recovered.*

*Six Hundred and Thirty Sixty (636) Knives were recovered.*

*Eighty Seven (87) Machetes were recovered.*

*Seventy Two (72) Clubs (Gora) were recovered.*

*Four (4) Bags, Three Hundred and Eighty One (381) Parcels and other large Quantity of Dried Leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp were recovered.*

Seventeen (17) Bags of expired Anti-Malaria Lonart DS Tabs and Seventy Eight (78) Cartons of Analgin Injections suspected to be substandard were recovered.

One Drum (1), Four (4) Gallons of Suck and Die and Three Hundred and Forty (340) Red Tube Solutions were recovered.

Five Cartons of Codiene Syrup and Sixty Pieces of Fortwin Injections were recovered.

The Command’s Commissioner of Police Cp Habu A. Sani, psc remain grateful to the good people of Kano State for their cooperation in driving Community Policing further to the grassroots, thereby making Kano peaceful and a shining example among others.
