How FCT Police Command Nabs Hardened Criminals
I wish to state that the FCT Police Command, under my supervision, has made concerted effort to fulfil its commitment to fight crime and provide FCT residents with quality police service delivery. As an institution that appreciates the critical nature of our constitutional mandate, this Command has not rested on its oars in ensuring that crime is nipped in the bud and blackspots identified as hibernating points for criminals are promptly dislodged. While the Command sustains its offensive onslaught on criminals, leading to the arrest of many, others who cannot withstand the heat have been forced to relocate out of FCT.
3. I still want to reiterate, like I did in the last press briefing held on 28th February, 2020, that there is no place for criminals or those nursing the nefarious thought of perpetuating crime in the Federal Capital Territory. I assure members of the public that the FCT Police Command will continue to review its policing strategy to meet up with the expectations of FCT residents.
4. It is therefore, cardinal to further place a clarion call across to community leaders, religious leaders, residents and all stakeholders that they must come on board and support the police in its renewed effort to fight crime and make FCT safe and secure for all.
5. While appreciating residents for their support, I want to entreat all not to relent in their effort to support the police with information. All communities in FCT must rise to the occasion and unanimously gang up against criminals by exposing their activities to the police. If we must enjoy a crime free society, members of the public must deliberately make their respective communities inaccessible to criminals by exposing them.
6. It is pertinent at this juncture to provide a scorecard of the Command’s laudable achievement in crime fighting from January, 2020 till date. The breakdown of major achievements of the Command within the period in focus is as follows:-
7. On behalf of officers and men of this Command, I wish to appreciate the Honourable Minister of FCT, Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello for always being a strong pillar of support to this Command. He has being in the fore, providing the Command with the desired moral and logistic support we need to fight crime and protect lives and property in the Federal Capital Territory.
Similarly, I want to express the Command’s profound gratitude to our amiable Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu NPM mni whose leadership prowess has provided a result yielding road map that the Command has being using to police FCT. The IGP indeed is a strong pillar that we constantly lean on for professional guidance.
In conclusion, I want to appreciate my officers and men for making the Command proud. The achievements we are parading today is the result of your hard work and commitment to duty. I want to charge all police personnel in this Command to do more. The task of policing is evolving, we must therefore evolve with it. It is now time for us to do more.
To our media partners, your support is sincerely appreciated.
Thank you and God bless.
