    COVID-19: District Head Seeks Adherence to Katsina Govt’s Directive

    The District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara, has directed communities in his District to abide by the rules and regulation laid down by the Katsina State Government in a bid to curtail the spread of Coronavirus.

    He gave the directive in a letter addressed to all village heads in his domain.

    Alh. Kankara, who is the Kanwan Katsina, said the action followed a call by Kankara Local Government to all district heads in the town.

    He mandated the village heads to enlighten their subjects on the importance of personal and environmental hygiene through frequent hand washing, using nose masks, and also practicing social distancing in public gatherings.

    The District Head, also approved the formation of Sanitation Committees to be headed by village heads, while religious leaders, wards heads, health officials and security personnel are to serve as members.

    The respected traditional leader, told the village chiefs to be preparing weekly reports on the activities of their committees, for onward submission to the Local Government.

    Alhaji Kankara, stressed the need for the village heads and entire communities to be vigilant and monitor indigenes of the town returning from areas hit by covid-19.

    He urged them to quickly report any suspected case or person showing symptoms of the disease, to the nearest health care facility or relevant authorities for necessary action.
