2021 Campus Journalism Awards call for entries

2021 Campus Journalism Awards call for entries

Youths Digest has opened its portal for submission of entries into the 2021 edition of the Campus Journalism Awards.

A statement signed on Sunday by the convener of the awards, Gidado Shuaib, who is also the editor of the News Digest, said this year’s edition will consider 30 finalists for 15 categories.

Mr Shuaib said the 15 categories include: “Upcoming Writer”, “Entertainment Writer”, “Sports Writer”, “Reporter”, “Gender Equality Reporter”, “Broadcaster” and “Photo-journalist”.

Others are: “Penclub”, “Author (Book)”, “Social Media Influencer”, “Investigative Journalist”, “Features Writer”, “Editor”, “Print Magazine”, and “Syndicated writer”.

According to him, entries will be closed on Wednesday 20th October, 2021, while the grand award ceremony will be held on Saturday, December 11th, 2021 in Abuja.

Mr Shuaib added that the “Panel of Judges for the awards, like the previous edition, are seasoned and highly accomplished media practitioners, journalism scholars and celebrated writers”.

On how to apply, the statement said: “Please visit https://newsdigest.ng/cja2021 from 12am, on Friday, October 1st, 2021 to provide the following information.

“Full Name of nominee, Course of Study, Institution, Award Category, Date of entry, Entry link/material, Summary Of The Entry.

“If you are submitting a work produced on print/broadcast material, kindly send it to [email protected] alongside the other details required. Please indicate in the entry form.” statement added.

This award is in its forth edition after organising its first in 2018 at the Roses Regency Hotel Abuja, the Second edition held at Nicon Luxury Hotel while the Campus Journalism Dialogue held in Kano state. The 2020 edition was also held at NICON Luxury hotel, Abuja. This edition promises to be  a top and eventful program.
