Police Nab Cleric Behind Kidnapping of Cousin

On 25/10/2021 at about 1100hrs, the Command succeeded in arresting one Jamilu Idris, ‘M’, aged 39yrs of Sabon-Fegi, Yankara village, Faskari LGA of the state, an Islamic cleric, who masterminded the kidnapping of his causing, one Umar Farouk Kabir, ‘M’, aged 4yrs of the same address. In the course of investigation, suspect confessed that on 09/10/2021, at about 1430hrs, he went to the house of his uncle, one Kabir Abdullahi at Funtua, who was not at home and when his son Umar Farouk Kabir came out to see who was asking after his father, he recognized the suspect, who later deceptively gave the little boy a Viju drink and abducted him to Dutsen-Alhaji, Abuja.

Subsequently, the suspect called the father (his uncle) through his GSM, changed his voice so that he cannot recognize him and threatened that he has kidnapped his son. He further confessed to have demanded the payment of five million naira (N5,000,000:00K) ransom which the father said he can only afford to pay him the sum of five hundred thousand naira only (N500,000:00K). Consequently, the Complainant reported the matter to the police and in the course of investigation suspect was traced and arrested and confessed to the commission of the Investigation is ongoing.

ARREST OF MEMBERS OF VIGILANTE WHO TURN OUT TO BE SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS: On 19/10/2021 at about 0900hrs, the Command succeeded in arresting the duo of Jafaru Suleiman, ‘M’, aged 45yrs and Mustapha Usman, ‘M’, aged 30yrs of Yargoje village, Kankara LGA of Katsina state, members of local vigilante group, who turn out to be suspected armed robbers. The facts of this case was that, on 17/10/2021 at about 1730hrs, suspects attacked one Aminu Tukur, ‘M’, aged 25yrs of Rijiyar Gamji village, Kankara LGA, who was passing through Yargoje village to attend a naming ceremony with machetes and robbed him of money the sum of fifteen thousand naira (N15,000:00K) and other valuables after inflicting serious injuries on his body. Suspects abandoned the victim in full of his own blood thinking that they have killed him. In the course of investigation suspects confessed to the commission of the offence. Investigation is ongoing.

ARREST OF SUSPECTED INFORMANTS AND SUPPLIERS OF FUEL TO BANDITS: On 29/11/2021 at about 1345hrs, based on a tip off, the Command succeeded in accosting the trio of (1) Musbahu Salisu, ‘M’, aged 20yrs, (2) Sabi’u Suleman, ‘M’, aged 20yrs and (3) Uzaifa Muntari, ‘M’, aged 19yrs, all of Kongolom village, Mai’adua LGA of Katsina state with forty-seven (47) Jerricans, suspected to be loaded with petrol, inside a motor vehicle, Gulf III, Wagon, Ash in colour, inside Mani LGA of the state. In the course of investigation, ten (10) Jerricans were found to be loaded with petrol while the remaining were empty. Investigation is ongoing.

ARREST OF SUSPECTED INFORMANTS AND SUPPLIERS OF FUEL TO BANDITS: On 02/11/2021 at about 11:00hrs, based on tip off, the Command succeeded in arresting the following suspected informants and suppliers of fuel to bandits. They are
Muhammadu Abdullahi, ‘M’, aged 36yr of Mani LGA
Hamisu Hamisu, ‘M’, aged 21yrs of Kofar-Guga Quarters, Katsina
Ahmed Rufa’I, ‘M’, aged 25yrs of Kofar-Guga, Quarters, Katsina

ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS WHO ATTACKED A HOUSEHOLD, KILLED TWO PERSONS, INJURED FOUR (4) AND ROBBED THEM OF THEIR BELONGINGS: On 25/10/2021 at about 0515hrs, the Command succeeded in busting a syndicate of armed robbers that scaled through the fence of the house of one Babangida Muhammad at Dan-Tudu Quarters, Jibia LGA, killed his mother, one Sa’adatu Muhammad, ‘F’, aged 70yrs, and his daughter one Aishatu Babangida, ‘F’, aged 15yrs. The hoodlums also injured his little children; (1) Muhammad Babangida, ‘M’, aged 11yrs, (2) Fatima Babangida, ‘F’, aged 6yrs, (3) Umar Babangida, ‘M’, aged 7yrs, and (4) Abubakar Babangida, ‘M’, aged 4yrs. In the course of investigation suspects confessed to the commission of the offence. Investigation is ongoing.

ARREST OF A SCRAP IRON DEALER WHO VANDALIZED CHAIRS, TABLES, DOORS AND WINDOWS OF KATOGE PRIMARY SCHOOL, KANKARA: On 27/10/2021 at about 1400hrs, based on a tip off, the Command succeeded in arresting one Muhammed Lawal, ‘M’, aged 30yrs of Matsai village, Kaita LGA of the state, a scrap iron dealer and a suspected thief who vandalized chairs, tables, doors and windows of Katoge Primary School, Kankara. Nemesis caught up with the suspect when after vandalizing the items he packed them inside sack and was arrested while trying to escape with it. In the course of investigation suspect confessed to the commission of the offence. Investigation is ongoing.
ARREST OF A SUSPECTED KIDNAPPER/INFORMANT TO BANDITS: On 26/10/2021 at about 0900hrs, a team of Police Mobile Personnel, on guard duty at Federal Government Girl’s Collage, Bakori, accosted one Suleiman Yusuf, ‘M’, aged 19yrs of Shibdawa village, Bindawa LGA of Katsina state, found inside the school premises. In the course of investigation, suspect confessed to be informant to bandits. Investigation is ongoing.
