Former Speaker Na’abba Appears Hale, Hearty, Despite Rumors of Incapacitation

Former speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon Gali Umar Na’abba has emerged looking hale and hearty contrary to claims in the public domain that he is incapacitated.

In a photo obtained by PRNigeria, Mr Na’abba was seen playing host to the Senator representing Kano Central, former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau at his Abuja residence.

A source told PRNigeria that Hon. Naabba returned to the country a fortnight ago after a successful medical vacation in London.

Few weeks ago, following a video of him walking staggeringly on a street abroad, Mr Na’abba was rumoured to have relocated to Europe to tend to his ailing health.

PRNigeria reports that this is not the first time that Mr Na’abba is rumoured to be sick or have relocated abroad.

In May 2020, the former speaker was reported to have died of undisclosed ailments.

Not long after, a video of Hon. Na’abba debunking the rumors of his death, circulating on social media and carried by some online media outlets, surfaced.

He clarified that he was not dead but only stuck in London due to the clampdown on international travel as a result of the raging COVID-19 pandemic at the time.

A year later, precisely in May 2021, Na’abba was in the Nigerian Polity where he actively participated in public discuss especially on the spate of violence across the country, adding that the masses are bearing the brunt of the mayhem of the crises.

In a veiled reference to President Muhammadu Buhari’s inability to halt the pervasive insecurity in Nigeria, Mr Na’Abba said, “The worst amongst us is being enthroned to manage our affairs.”

He spoke at a gathering of ethnic nationalities in Abuja.
