Troops Kill Bandits, Recover Weapons, Rescue Victims in Kebbi, Katsina and Zamfara States

POLICE TACTICAL TEAMS IN SYNERGY WITH ARMY AND LOCAL VIGILANTES NEUTRALIZES ONE SUSPECTED BANDIT AND RECOVERS ONE AK47 RIFLE

In it’s continued efforts to rid Kebbi State of all forms of crimes and criminality, Kebbi State Police Command had received an information that, on the 21st August, 2022, at about 0300hrs, bandits in their large number have invaded Tiggi village in Augie Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

On receipt of the report, the police tactical teams deployed in the area in collaboration with the Army and local vigilantes were immediately mobilized to the scene and engaged the bandits to a gun duel. As a result, one of the bandits was neutralized and many escaped with fatally gun wounds. However, one AK 47 rifle was also recovered.

While commending the courage and gallantry performances of the police tactical teams, Army and local vigilantes in their onslaught against criminal elements, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Police Command, CP Ahmed Magaji Kontagora reiterated the Command’s readiness and determination in not only securing the boarder communities against banditry activities, but Kebbi State in general.

In the same vain, CP Ahmed Magaji Kontagora further appeals to the good people of Kebbi State to continue to support and cooperate with the police and other Security agencies with a view to reduce crimes to the bearest minimum in the state.

KATSINA POLICE RAID TERRORISTS HIDEOUT AT UNGUWAR MAIZUMA VILLAGE DANJA LGA, NEUTRALIZED ONE TERRORIST, ARRESTED THEIR INFORMANT, RECOVERED WEAPONS, ILLICIT SUBSTANCES/INDIAN HEMP AND TWO BOXER MOTORCYCLES

On 20/08/2022 at about 0730hrs, acting on credible intelligence that terrorists were sighted in a black spot at Maizuma village , Danja LGA of Katsina state, DPO Danja led a team of policemen to the area and engaged the hoodlums into a fierce gun duel. The team successfully repelled the terrorists and neutralized one of the terrorists. In the course of scanning the hideout, the following exhibits were recovered: (1) locally fabricated gun, (2) military camouflage uniform, (3) machetes and Dagger, (4) one hundred (100) bottles and a gallon of Spirit (5) Some quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp, (6) two Boxer motorcycles (7) three (3) car batteries (8) one Sewing machine, (9) Roll of cable wire, (10) two cooking gas cylinders. One suspected informant to the terrorists was also arrested. It was reasonably suspected that the ring leader of the terror group, one Sule Dawa, escaped with fatal gunshots wound. The command is making efforts with view to arresting the gang leader and other members of the syndicate.

2. The Commissioner of Police, Katsina state Command, CP Idrisu Dabban Dauda, psc+, fdc, appreciated the efforts of the personnel in repelling the terrorists and directed them to sustain the tempo until all forms of crime and criminality are dealt with. He also urges members of the public to continue to cooperate with security agencies in the ongoing campaign against terrorism in the state.

ZAMFARA POLICE COMMAND RESCUES TWO KIDNAPPED FEMALE VICTIMS, AFTER THREE WEEKS IN CAPTIVITY

Reassures the protection of lives and property

On 20th August, 2022, Operatives of the Zamfara State Police Command while on confidence building patrol along Nya Mango in Bungudu LGA, acted on intelligence report that led to the unconditional rescue of two (2) female hostages namely: Ubaida Hassan, a 12yrs old and Umaima Jamilu a 10yrs old of Gidan Liman village in Kekun Waje district of Bungudu LGA.

The victims who were rescued unhurt were abducted by armed bandit/terrorists on 15th July, 2022 following attack on the village. Victims were medically checked at General Hospital Bungudu, thereafter, debriefed by the Police and handed over to their families.

The Command while reassuring the public of its commitment to the protection of lives and property, congratulates the victims for regaining their freedom, and further urges all and sundry to be security conscious and report suspicious characters to the Police or any security Agency for prompt action.
