2023: Don’t Flout Rules of Engagement, CPs for Kano, Jigawa Gubers Warned

2023: Don’t Flout Rules of Engagement, CPs for Kano, Jigawa Gubers Warned

The Deputy Inspector-General of Police, DIG. Hafizu Inuwa, min, alongside the Assistant Inspector-General of Police Zone One Headquarters, Kano, AIG. Bello Sani Dalijan, ps(+), has lectured and at the same time, warned Commissioners of Police deployed for election duties to Kano and Jigawa States Commands, sector commanders i.e Deputy Commissioners of Police in charge of senatorial District, Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, officers and men of the force at Bompai Headquarters, Kano to be guided by the rules provided in the revised standard operational guideline/rules for police officers and other law enforcement agents on election duties.

They should leave no stone unturned as regards crime prevention, especially electoral offenses. He also use this opportunity to call on the politicians to play according to the rules of the game, electioneering activities as well as voting rights to allow every eligible voter to exercise his franchise.

In conclusion of the lecture, the AIG further charged officers and men to remain professional, apolitical, neutral, and impartial in the discharge of their numerous tasking responsibilities. Be very firm and decisive in dealing with trouble makers, and also be mindful of the fundamental human rights of the citizenry.
