Katsina District Head Urges NPSC to Seek ‘Conduct Proof’ Before Recruiting Police Officers

The Nigeria Police Service Commission, NPSC, has been advised to always demand proof of good conduct and character from traditional and community leaders, before recruiting police officers.

The Kanwan Katsina and District Head of Ketare, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara gave the advice in a goodwill message shortly after the election and inauguration of the executives of Katsina State chapter of the Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC.

Alh. Bello Kankara said demanding for the proof of good character from village and ward heads will go along away in ensuring that people with questionable character are weeded out in the process of recruiting police officers across the country.

While congratulating the newly-elected officials of the PCRC, Katsina State Chapter, the monarch charged them to be just and fair in the discharge of their official responsibilities.

Alh. Bello Kankara called on the officials to collaborate with the Katsina State Police Command and embark on public enlightenment on the need to join hands in securing lives and properties of people of the state.

The traditional ruler also called on the new executives to devise a way of generating revenue for the committee to carry out its activities as PCRC is a non-profit organization

While thanking the PCRC Katsina State Chapter for finding him worthy and appointing him the Patron of the Committee, Alh. Bello Kankara assured the organisation of his support and advice at all times.

The Kanwan Katsina, who was a retired Comptroller of Customs and peace ambassador, noted that he has worked closely with the Nigeria Police at various points in time while serving, and saying he will use his wealth of experience for the development of Katsina State PCRC.
