NYSC Celebrates General Gowon at 89
The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General YD Ahmed has congratulated the former Head of State and founder of the NYSC, Gen Dr Yakubu Gowon GCFR who turned 89 years in October.

General Ahmed who led some Directors, Staff and Corps Members to General Gowon’s house expressed appreciation to God for sparing Gowon’s life to see his eighty-ninth birthday and prayed God to further bless the founder of the NYSC with more years as the Scheme is still benefiting from his wealth of knowledge.
Responding, General Gowon thanked the Director General and the entire NYSC for keeping the flag of the Scheme flying with several innovations. He also expressed confidence that the NYSC Trust fund bill would be attended to.
He further charged the Corps Members to continue to be disciplined, loyal and patriotic on their service to the nation.
