PRNigeria Bureau Chief, Adnan Mukhtar, Unveils Memoir on ‘Not Too Young To Run’

A Book titled “Not Too Young To Run: A Personal Experience,” written by the Manager of PRNigeria Centre in Kano, Adnan Mukhtar, has been launched in Abuja.

The event, which took place at the Cosmopolitan University in the nation’s capital, had dignitaries from the political class, business circle, media industry and the youth constituency in attendance.

In 143 pages spread over 15 chapters, the Book which is a revised edition gave insight into the 2023 elections, the experience and challenges faced by the author, a young Nigerian who contested and lost the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) State House of Assembly primary election in Kano state.

During a panel discussion on “Youths and Political Inclusion” held as part of the Book launch, the author spoke about the challenges he encountered during his participation in politics and how it motivated him to write the Book to document the lessons he learnt for posterity.

“I have meticulously documented my latest campaign experience in this revised book. The first edition, published in 2019, focused on my journey as a candidate of the United People’s Congress (UPC).

“In this revised edition, I delved into the challenges I faced during the last elections, from securing the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) form to contesting in the primaries, where I received only two votes despite numerous promises from various stakeholders,” the author said.

The Publisher of PRNigeria and Economic Confidential, Mallam Yushau Shuaib, in his opening remarks said that the author, being the manager of PRNigeria Centre in Kano, has over time shown doggedness and resilience in the pursuit of his lawful and legitimate dreams.

“He is our own, our product, and we will continue to give him the necessary support he needs to navigate through turbulent waters and reach the glorious heights he deserves,” the publisher said.

The keynote speaker, Barrister Ismail Ahmed, a former Senior Special Assistant to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari on National Social Investment Programme, eulogised the author over what he described as a well written book on youth participation in politics.

He described the author as a restless fighter who is very committed to making positive impact in his constituency through his participation in politics.

“Adnan is like a brother who since his young age has been motivated to join the political class. I am talking about as far back as 2009 when he finished secondary school, he met me to express his interest in politics. I encouraged him to continue doing his best, today I’m proud to say that he is already at the top fulfilling his childhood dreams,” he said.

The high point of the event was the unveiling of the Book by Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, the founder of Maryam Abacha American University and the Canadian University of Nigeria, who was joined by other dignitaries.
