CP Salma Dogo Assumes Duty as Kano Commissioner of Police
Kano State Police Command has a new helmsman! CP Salman-Dogo Garba assumed duty as the 46th Commissioner of Police on June 24, 2024. Born on July 21, 1966, in Ilorin Kwara State, CP Garba has had a distinguished career spanning over three decades.
CP Garba joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 and has held various positions across the country, including Divisional Crime Officer, Officer in Charge of Special Anti-Robbery Squad, and Chief Superintendent of Police. He has also served as Area Commander in Lagos, Kaduna, and Kano, and as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations in Bauchi and Anambra.

The experienced police officer was promoted to Commissioner of Police in November 2022 and has attended several courses, seminars, and workshops both within and outside the country. He has received several awards and commendations for his outstanding service.
CP Garba has traversed all six geopolitical zones of the country and is happily married with children. His wealth of experience and expertise make him a valuable asset to the Kano State Police Command.
With his assumption of duty, CP Garba is expected to bring his expertise to bear on the security challenges in Kano State, ensuring a safer and more secure environment for the citizens.
