Social Media User Apologizes to Kano Police Spokesperson After Issuing Death Threat

In a surprising turn of events, Ismail Yusif, a social media user who previously issued a death threat against SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Kano State Command, has now publicly apologized for his actions.

In a TikTok video, Yusif expressed his deep remorse and begged for forgiveness from SP Kiyawa. “If you did not forget, some weeks ago, I made a video insulting and issuing death threats to SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa. From the day I made the video to this moment, I have not known peace. I therefore ask for your forgiveness,” he said.

Yusif went on to acknowledge the importance of SP Kiyawa’s role in serving the country and regretted his previous actions. “I have come to realise how valuable you (Kiyawa) are to the country, and I sincerely regret my actions. My family and I have been restless since I made that mistake. My brother has been arrested, and I cannot even call anyone at home.”

The social media user further revealed the consequences of his ill-advised behavior, stating that he has even stopped going to his business. “I have even stopped going to for my business. I promise that from today onwards, I will not make any videos relating to the police or politics. Instead, I will go back to making music videos like I did before. From the bottom of my heart, I regret my actions,” Yusif said.

This incident comes after PRNigeria had earlier reported that Yusif had issued a chilling death threat against SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, over the arrest and rehabilitation of young protesters during the recent #EndBadGovernance protests in Kano State.
