Breaking: How Medical Students were Freed from Captivity in Benue Forest

Twenty medical students and several other Nigerians have been successfully released from captivity in Ntunkon forest, Benue State.

The release, which took place on Friday, August 23, 2024, is a testament to the tireless efforts and strategic collaboration of security agencies, local communities, and the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).

Contrary to unverified reports, the rescue mission was accomplished without the payment of any ransom. Instead, security operatives employed tactical and professional tactics to secure the release of the captives.

In a statement, Police Spokesperson, CSP Ademuyiwa Adejobi, expressed gratitude to all parties involved in the operation, including security agencies, locals, and ONSA, for their unwavering commitment and resilience.

The successful rescue operation is a significant achievement for the Nigerian government, which has been working to combat kidnapping and insecurity in the country.

Further details on the rescue mission are expected to be released in due course.

This development marks a major breakthrough in the fight against kidnapping and insecurity in Nigeria, and it is hoped that it will serve as a deterrent to kidnappers and other criminals.
