CGC Adeniyi Bags ‘PR Icon Awards’

CGC Adeniyi Bags ‘PR Icon Awards’ 

The Board of PR Primus Limited has unanimously picked the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, as the winner of the prestigious “PR Icon Award” for 2024.

Announcing the Award, the CEO of PR Primus Limited, Mr. Akin Okudero, described the Comptroller General of Customs as a tested, well-rounded and consummate professional Public Relations pearl who had, and is still bringing, unquantifiable honour and prestige to the profession.

“As a former Vice President of the NIPR Governing Council and recipient of numerous global leadership awards and training, PR Primus Limited is highly honoured to have him as the winner”, Okudero noted.

He added that CGC Adeniyi, a Fellow, is the first member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) to emerge as the Head of Customs in Nigeria.

The PR Icon honouree is a 1987 graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile Ife and a Masters Degree holder in Communication Science from USI, Lugano, Switzerland.

He joined the Nigeria Customs Service as a Cadet Officer in 1990 and served as Customs Public Relations Officer with great dedication and admirable professionalism from 2001 to December, 2016. He held other sensitive positions as Deputy Comptroller General of Customs before his appointment as as Comptroller General in 2023.

The 10th edition of the Annual Lecture and Your Image Award ceremony will hold on Wednesday, 9th October, 2024 at the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel, Abeokuta.
