Shekarau Leads League of Northern Democrats to Maiduguri, Donates N50m to Flood Victims

Shekarau Leads League of Northern Democrats to Maiduguri, Donates N50m to Flood Victims

Former Kano State Governor and the Chairman of the League of Northern Democrats, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, today led a delegation of the members on a sympathy visit to Maiduguri , the capital city of Borno State.

The purpose of the visit was to commiserate with the government and people of the state over the recent devastating flood disaster that hit the northeastern state.

During the visit, Senator Shekarau presented a cash donation of 50 million naira to the Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum on behalf of the League.

According to him, the donation is intended for onward transmission to the affected flood victims to alleviate their hardships following the natural disaster.

The Chairman further expressed deep concern over the extent of damage caused by the floods, while extending prayers and support to the victims.

He emphasized the commitment of the League of Northern Democrats to stand in solidarity with the people of Borno during such challenging times.

The Governor of Borno State, who received the delegation, expressed gratitude for the generous donation, acknowledging the importance of collective efforts in mitigating the impact of disasters and rebuilding the lives of affected citizens.
