BSPR Will Soon Digitalize Public Service Completely – Arabi

Director General of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, BPSR, Mr. Dasuki Ibrahim Arabi, has expressed strong confidence in the federal public service attaining full digitalization soon.

This is because their Bureau has received a marching order from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to make the public service paperless in the next five years, he said.

He spoke while presenting his address of welcome yesterday at the 2024 Nigeria GovTech Conferences and Awards, in Abuja.

Governors of Niger, Edo, Kaduna and Lagos States, together with the National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, Galaxy Backbone, the Nigeria Communication Commission, NCC, and the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, were among the personalities and institutions honoured with various awards at the ceremony.

Due to the efforts of their agency, Arabi explained that public finance management at the federal level is now 100 percent paperless. “This has helped to curb corrupt practices in the award and implementation of contracts and projects by Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government.

“It is also to the credit of our Bureau that we now have the Biometric Verification Number, BVN and the Treasury Single Account, TSA, which among other things, have significantly helped to curb bank frauds and engender transparency in generating, collecting and managing revenues for the government,” he said.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, who was represented at the event, assured that the Federal Government is committed to transforming the public service into an efficient, vibrant and world-class institution, that will offer qualitative service to citizens.
