Nigerian Navy Impounds Over 400,000 Litres of Stolen Crude Oil in One month
The Nigerian Navy’s Operation Delta Sanity II has achieved significant success in its anti-crude oil theft operations, seizing over 400,000 litres of stolen crude oil in March 2025 alone.
A statement by Commodore A Adams-Aliu, Director of Information, Nigerian Navy announced this today in Abuja.
According to him, “the ongoing Nigerian Navy anti-crude oil theft operation tagged Operation DELTA SANITY II recorded huge successes in the month of March 2025.”
He said the operation’s successes include the seizure of 100,000 litres of crude oil around Egbessan oilfield, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

“Additionally, 70,000 litres of crude oil, 25,000 litres of illegally refined AGO, and 15,000 litres of illegally refined kerosene were discovered and deactivated around Ndoni, Ogba, Ohaji, and Egbema West in Rivers State on Thursday, March 27, 2025,” he stated.
Commodore Adams-Aliu noted that “the Nigerian Navy will continue to intensify its operations in support of Nigeria’s economic activities, particularly the mandate to improve crude oil production as directed by the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
He added that the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, reiterated the Navy’s commitment to intensifying its operations in support of Nigeria’s economic activities, particularly in improving crude oil production.
